How to pay for Google Ads from Uzbekistan: card, USD, limits

A Google Ads account often "does not run" not because of keywords, but because of payment: the card fails, the currency is wrong, the daily limit hit zero. This article is for a business owner in Tashkent and the regions who wants to pay for clicks calmly and not lose days to "payment declined". Below — what to settle before launch, how the card and USD work, which limits to watch, and what to do if Google does not charge. No promises that "any card will go through" and no bank instructions on "how to bypass". UZNEO writes the way it runs ads: billing first, then budget.

01Currency and who owns the account — first

Google Ads account currency is chosen once, at creation. For Uzbekistan you usually set USD: easier to compare CPC, pay with an international card, and reconcile with a contractor. Changing currency later is practically impossible — you would need a new account. Lock in before the first campaign: • the business owner's corporate email, not the manager's personal Gmail; • Tashkent timezone (UTC+5); • USD currency (if the card can charge in dollars / convert); • a payment method is linked and a test charge has gone through. An account on someone else's card "for a while" is a risk: the person leaves, ads stop. Agency access is separate; billing stays with the owner. Account start step by step — in Google Ads setup.

02How people usually pay from Uzbekistan

Google Ads charges the linked card (or an invoiced account, if your account has that option). For small business in UZ the usual path is: an international Visa / Mastercard issued by an Uzbek bank, with online payments and a limit for foreign-currency operations turned on. A practical minimum: • the card is opened on a legal entity or sole proprietor, not "on a friend"; • the bank allows online payments abroad / in USD; • daily and monthly limits are higher than your Ads daily budget × a buffer; • 3-D Secure / SMS confirmation works — otherwise Google will decline the payment. Ask your bank for exact conversion fees. We do not publish a "bypass scheme" and do not recommend third-country cards "so it goes through". If the bank blocks foreign-currency payments — that is a conversation with the bank, not with Google.

03Limits: the bank, the card, and Google itself

Three different "ceilings" — people mix them up. 1. Bank / card. Daily and monthly limits on internet and foreign currency. If the limit is $100 and Google tries to charge $120 over a few days — ads stop. 2. Campaign daily budget. That is not an exact charge of that amount every day: Google may slightly overspend on some days and average around the budget. If the card declines a large batch charge — look at payment history in Ads. 3. Google account limit. New accounts sometimes have a lower threshold until there is a payment history. That is not a "ban", it is platform caution. The fix: stable small charges, not a jump from $5 to $200 a day. While billing is red, bid optimization is pointless. How much to put on a test — in budget by niche.

04Why a payment is declined — a calm breakdown

In Ads: Tools → Billing → Transactions (or "Payments"). Status Failed / declined — read the code, do not guess. Common reasons in UZ: • the bank blocks merchant category "advertising / abroad"; • not enough limit or som balance for conversion; • the card expired, CVV changed, 3-D Secure did not pass; • the address / name on the card does not match what is in Google billing; • VPN or a "suspicious" login country plus a new card. What to do in order: another card of the same legal entity → call the bank ("Google Ads payment, USD") → lower the auto-charge amount for a couple of days → do not spawn new accounts "just in case". A new account because of payment often breaks history and conversions.

05Auto-pay, charge threshold, and campaign pause

Google accumulates spend and charges when a threshold or a date is reached. At the start the threshold is small, charges are more frequent. Later the threshold grows — the amount from the card is larger. If the card fails at the threshold moment, campaigns stop until the payment goes through. It looks like "ads died", though the keywords are the same. Owner ritual once a week: 1. Billing: any Failed? 2. Card expiry and bank limit. 3. Daily budgets not higher than what the card can clearly cover in a 3–5 day batch. 4. Billing email is live, Google letters are not in spam. Until the funnel is ready, there is no point spinning budget — see when not to launch ads.

06Contractor, access, and who pays

The normal setup: the owner pays, the agency runs. Standard / Admin access without a need to change the payment profile. Red flag: the contractor asks you to send budget to their card "it is more convenient". Then you do not see billing, and when you part ways you lose the account and the history. Access checklist — in audit before changing contractor and in choosing a digital contractor.

07Checklist before launching a campaign

☐ Currency USD (or another one on purpose — and you understand the consequences) ☐ Company card, online payments and foreign-currency limit turned on ☐ A test charge in Billing went through (even a small one) ☐ Billing email is live ☐ Test daily budget fits the card limit for 7–14 days ☐ The contractor is not the only one who sees payment ☐ The form / call on the site works — otherwise you pay for clicks into a void When billing is green — launch Search calmly. Help with the account — Google Ads from UZNEO.

Summary

Paying for Google Ads from Uzbekistan is account currency, a working card with a limit, and the habit of looking at Payments, not only the click chart. While charges fail, campaign optimization is pointless. Card and threshold first, then a 7–14 day test. Account setup without billing surprises — in Google Ads and online promotion from UZNEO.
